How many of you have said this yourself, or heard a mum friend say it for themselves, or a family member hint at it?
I'm going to guess the answer is yes.
For me this phrase is up there with the question ' Are they a good baby'?
When I first meet clients, they often say it, and explain why..... And it saddens me and often I'm furiously shaking my head down the phone!
Mums and parents - be kinder and more realistic to yourself.
The reason you choose to do certain things, especially in the first year, is likely down to survival. Getting your head around each stage, before you move onto the next can give you whiplash!
Don't beat yourself up about the choices you made when you were sleep deprived, had little time to yourself, dealing with teething, vaccinations, illness, weaning ....the list goes on.
Instead, acknowledge that your baby may be older, or you are in a different season of parenthood and you would like to make a change to help you and your little one.
I'd love to know your thoughts below!
Thanks, Lynsey x
